Funding and Approval Notice

AJFC is a local provider of Community Services Block Grant and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program services.

Assistance is provided to eligible households on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date the completed application is received.

Funding is limited and may run out before your appointment date or before your application is completed. Receiving an appointment confirmation, scheduling an appointment, or attending an appointment does not reserve funding or guarantee approval.

Approval is based on:

  • Client eligibility
  • Submission of complete, current, and verifiable documentation
  • Compliance with program requirements
  • Availability of funding at the time the application is reviewed

If you are having difficulty paying your utility bill or have received a shut-off notice, contact your utility provider to request payment arrangements while waiting to secure an appointment and complete the application process.

Do not rely solely on an appointment to prevent utility disconnection, eviction, service interruption, loss of housing, or another emergency.

Appointment Arrival Policy

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. A 15-minute grace period is allowed.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you may have to reschedule your appointment or wait to be seen.

If you know that you will be unable to arrive on time, please cancel your existing appointment and schedule a new appointment through the online scheduling system.

Due to limited lobby space, we ask that only the applicant attend the appointment unless another person is required for assistance, interpretation, caregiving, or accessibility support.

Required Documentation

Bring all documents that apply to your household and the service you are requesting. Missing, incomplete, expired, or unverifiable documentation may delay the review of your application or require you to schedule another appointment.

AJFC staff may request additional information after reviewing your application. An eligibility determination cannot be completed until all required documents have been received and verified.
